Position / Role in the Church

Rev. Dr. David Kirwa Tarus serves as an Associate Pastor at AIC Milimani, where he combines pastoral care with his passion for theological scholarship and discipleship. As a minister, he actively promotes biblically grounded teaching, mentorship of future church leaders, and spiritual formation rooted in holistic theology.

Biography

Rev. Dr. David Tarus is a visionary leader in Christian theological education and ecclesial service. Currently, the Executive Director of ACTEA, a program of the Association of Evangelicals in Africa, he is committed to strengthening African theological institutions to better serve the Church and society. His work bridges academic theology with grassroots ministry, ensuring that theological education remains transformative and contextually relevant.

Before his role at ACTEA, Dr. Tarus was a lecturer and Deputy Principal at AIC Missionary College, affiliated with Scott Christian University. His experience spans the classroom, the pulpit, and theological governance structures—bringing practical and spiritual depth to every

role he undertakes. Dr. Tarus has authored A Different Way of Being: Toward a Reformed Theology of Ethnopolitical Cohesion for the Kenyan Context (Langham) and co-edited Christian Responses to Terrorism: The Kenyan Experience (Wipf & Stock), alongside publishing over thirty academic articles. His research focuses on theological anthropology, ecclesiology, and socio-political theology.

Beyond academia, he is a dedicated servant of the church. As Associate Pastor at AIC Milimani, he supports discipleship ministries, family life initiatives, and Christian education, ministering with humility and wisdom. He is also the patron of the Noble Marriages Ministry.

Dr. Tarus is married to Jeane Ngeno, and together they are blessed with three children: Kori, Berur, and Tala.
