Men’s Ministry
The Men’s Ministry at AIC Milimani, established in 2019, is focused on building bonds, empowering through education, and leading with purpose. Led by Chairman Eng. Sammy Muttai and under the patronage of Rev. Mathews Okeyo, the ministry has seen significant growth and impact. A key achievement is the establishment of a monthly evening fellowship that has grown exponentially, attracting approximately 110 men each month and serving as a model for other churches.
Annual events, such as the mid-year conference and end-of-year assembly, further solidify bonds of friendship and mentorship. The ministry is committed to spiritual growth, evidenced by the revival and recent launch of a bimonthly online Bible study. This initiative allows members to delve deeper into scriptures and gain valuable life lessons.
Education and mentorship are key components, including a partnership with Transform Africa Inc. for an online entrepreneurship class in 2021 to equip men with practical skills. The ministry also partners with the Youth Ministry on a Youth Mentorship program, using sports to mentor young men and provide role models. Community outreach is significant, with annual visits to the Nairobi Juvenile Remand in collaboration with the Missions Ministry, providing fellowship and evangelism. Partnerships with men from other churches, like AIC Jericho and Nairobi Baptist Church, are explored to expand reach.
Crucially, the ministry provides a safe haven where men can openly discuss issues such as relationships, finances, and work-life balance, fostering connection and support. The ministry’s journey is a testament to collective purpose, commitment to growth, and a heart for service, aiming to train, mentor, and empower men to be servant leaders within and outside the church.
