Children's Ministry

At AIC Milimani, the Children’s Ministry, often referred to in part through its Sunday School activities, is a vibrant and transformative ministry dedicated to nurturing and educating the next generation. Under the guidance of Pastor Rachel Kisyula, this ministry has flourished, becoming a cornerstone for introducing young lives to spiritual teachings.

A significant milestone was the relocation of younger children to the Lady Northey Nursery, creating a more tailored and comfortable learning environment and addressing previous overcrowding. TV screens are utilized to enhance engagement during worship and educational activities. A standout initiative is the establishment of a class for differently-abled children, fostering inclusivity and welcoming new families. Identification tags for children have also been introduced to bolster security.

A critical development is the creation of a dedicated worship time for children, allowing them to express faith in an age-appropriate setting. The adoption of a homegrown curriculum makes lessons more relatable and manageable for teachers, allowing for creative teaching methods. A pre-ROPES class prepares children for the next stage of their spiritual journey. Biannual teacher training sessions and recruitment of new teachers support these efforts, improving the teacher-to-student ratio. The ministry relies heavily on volunteers whose passion and commitment ensure no child is sent away due to lack of teachers.

Partnerships with organizations like Tumaini Children’s Home and local schools enrich programs and broaden reach. Technology is also integrated to make teaching more engaging. The inclusion of “Differently abled children” is highlighted as a major achievement and a reflection of obeying Christ’s command to let the children come to Him. The ministry exemplifies the church’s vision of making spiritual teachings accessible and applicable to young lives.
