Youth Ministry

The Youth Ministry at AIC Milimani comprises dynamic, diverse, and passionate young people, including students, young professionals, and recent graduates. Their diversity in ethnic backgrounds and socio-economic statuses enriches the ministry, fostering an environment of shared perspectives.

The ministry is entrusted to the oversight of Rev. Dr. Luke Odhiambo Awino and led by Brian Kibet Maiyo. The youth are deeply engaged in a spiritual quest, seeking to deepen their relationship with God through Bible studies, prayers, and worship events. The ministry has seen remarkable growth, with youth fellowship attendance rising from 30 in 2017 to an average of 350 in 2023. Programs like the KUZA Discipleship Program have been impactful, helping youth build confidence, consistency, and Christlikeness, with 107 graduates by 2024. The BEE program also engages youth in discipleship.

Dynamic programs introduced include Prayer Thursday, the “At His Feet” podcast, the Tujikuze youth magazine, and the Ignition camp. Youth Thursday Prayers have grown steadily. The ministry is committed to community service, engaging in outreach programs such as clean-up campaigns and mentorship initiatives. They conduct CSR activities among vulnerable groups, including incarcerated children, residents of children’s homes, older people, and local police stations. Outreach extends to high schools across Nairobi, impacting lives through gospel outreach and mentorship.

The youth navigate modern challenges like mental health and moral dilemmas with support through mentorship programs and open discussions, provided in a safe space. Fellowship is central, with social events like hikes, game nights, and dinners fostering connection. The youth are described not just as the future, but as the church today, rooted for growth and poised to make a lasting impact for Christ’s sake.
